Overseas education is the latest trend in the global education system with a constantly increasing number of students leaving their own towns and going abroad for higher degree courses and professional programs. Research has also revealed that many students firmly believe studying abroad completely changes the viewpoint and perspective of an individual

To learn the trend and study the concept of international education with depth, the Institute for International Education of Students conducted a survey and extracted interested and inspiring statistics:

 

Overseas Education

•        The rising percentage of global students is 10% annually and more than 5 million students were reported to go aboard for higher education in the year 2014.

•       With this rate of increase that is constantly increasing, the population of international students is known to reach a high peak of 8 million by the year 2025.

•       In a survey, more than 95% of students agreed that going for foreign studies gives a great boost to the level of maturity one beholds. However, more than 96% agreed that it helps increase self-confidence and around 85% admitted that it provides an influential power to their educational experience.

•       Many students have a belief that such form of education help learns and respect various cultures, religion, values, and tradition.

•       Almost 99% of global students studying abroad stated that it provides a streamlined career path and rewarding career opportunities. The students also tend to learn and gain good working experience and professional ethics while working as interns and some short duration employment in foreign countries.

•       The most popular countries as per the survey for study abroad courses are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia.

•      The most popular countries from where maximum numbers of Students are going beyond the boundaries are China and India. Germany, South Korea, and France follow the percentages.

•      In the United States, more than 77% of the international students are either from India or from other Asian countries.

•       More than 55% of Indian students go for further studies in the USA and Canada with an estimated number of 55344o students. Following the trend,

•       As per the research by UNESCO, more than 712,157 students from China left for foreign universities in the year 2013. China is also known to be a new player when it comes to attracting foreign students. It has been successful in attracting more than 380,000 foreign students in 2016 and is expected to reach 500,000 students by 2020.

•       Other new players in the industry that are constantly venturing into the competitive market of overseas education are Japan, Canada, Russia, and Spain.

•       The most popular field chosen by students in foreign universities is Business, Social Science, Fine Arts, and Foreign Language.
